Soichi Shindo has been appointed as the new anchor of the night news program "Newsgate" on the commercial TV station JBN. "Newsgate" is a flagship program with a 40-year history, but in recent years its viewer ratings have been sluggish. If that happens, JBN, which sponsors the international volleyball championship, will suffer a huge loss. It could also affect the program budget. Shindo (Abe Hiroshi) goes to meet Nishina (Miyagawa Ichirota), the president of E-Stream, and declares that he will reveal Nawa's innocence.
